What curricula does the school offer?
RIS offers four academic pathways: Sudanese Curriculum (Arabic), Sudanese Curriculum (English), South Sudan Curriculum, and the Cambridge International Pathway.
What's the difference between the Sudanese Arabic and English pathways?
Both follow the Sudanese national curriculum. The Arabic pathway is taught primarily in Arabic; the English pathway teaches selected subjects — including maths and science — in English to build broader language capability.
Who is the South Sudan curriculum for?
It is designed for South Sudanese families who want their children to continue with the national curriculum of the Republic of South Sudan, inside a school community that respects their identity and culture.
What is the Cambridge International Pathway?
A Cambridge-based programme that develops critical thinking, problem-solving, independence and English proficiency, preparing students for international university pathways.
Is the school officially Cambridge accredited?
We describe our programme as 'Cambridge International Pathway'. Any formal accreditation status is only communicated when officially confirmed by the school administration.
Can students join mid-year as transfers?
Yes, we accept transferring students throughout the year subject to availability, documentation and an academic assessment where needed.
Is there an assessment before admission?
A short, age-appropriate assessment may be used to place your child at the right level and identify any support needs.
What is the language of instruction?
It depends on the pathway. Arabic in the Sudanese Arabic pathway; a mix of English and Arabic in Sudanese English; English in the South Sudan and Cambridge pathways.
How do I choose the right pathway for my child?
Speak with our admissions team. We help you consider language background, previous schooling, future plans and stability of pathway.

Kindergarten, Primary, Middle and Secondary school.
What documents are needed to apply?
Previous school records, identification/passport copies, and any relevant assessment or medical reports. Admissions will confirm the full list.
